Welcome to Reflections
20010-2011
Together We Can ...
It is time for the PTA Reflections Art Competition
once again! The organizers for this years events are:
Julie LaManna 425-823-5430 &
Tawnya Cranmore
This year’s theme – ‘Together We Can…’ has the possibilities of unleashing all the artistic
talents our kids have!
When children express themselves through words,
pictures, music, dance, film, and other art media, they grow
intellectually; they learn to analyze their thoughts and feelings.
By encouraging participation in the Reflections Program, you can foster your childs talents, while promoting the arts in your home, school, and community.
Attend our Reflections Preparation Session!
Wednesday October 20th - 2:00pm - 3:30pm This
permission slip MUST BE completed for any child wishing to participate.
Your child can represent their interpretation of the
theme through the following media:
·
Dance Choreography
·
Film Production
·
Literature
·
Musical Composition
·
Photography
·
Visual Arts
A student can enter as many pieces as they wish, from
as many different categories as they wish, however each entry requires
an individual Entry Form.
Please be aware there are very specific rules and guidelines for each
entry type, dictating size of entries, presentation requirements,
details of software and/or equipment used etc. Both Entry Forms and
Rules and Regulations are available at:
www.HelenKellerPTA.org/Reflections;
and in the document holder outside the School Office.
We highly recommend you read these rules before your child spends time on their art work to save disappointment. This year we will only accept art pieces mounted correctly and presented in a clear protective plastic sleeve (available at all art stores). Please read ALL submission guidelines.
ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE BY NOVEMBER 5TH, 2010
We will have a very relaxed
family friendly gathering at Helen Keller on Friday November 12th,
2010.
This event will celebrate the students’
achievements, display their art work, and announce the participants
which will move to district level judging.
We hope to see you there!
